National Show Schedule 2011
Catherine Hillis has had paintings selected for the following regional and national shows:

My painting "Morning Coffee" has been selected for the Kansas Watercolor Society's 2011 National Exhibition at the Wichita Center for the Arts, Nov. 18 - Dec. 28, 2011.

I'll be competing in the Plein Aire Brandywine Competition Sept 26 - Oct. 1, 2011, www.pleinairebrandywinevalley.org
Locations will include the Chadd's Ford area, Winterthur, the Hagley Museum, Longwood Gardens and West Chester, PA.

My plein aire works will be exhibited as part of the Easels in Frederick competition on June 26 at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Center in Frederick, MD 2011.

Morning in the City has been selected for the National Watercolor Society Show, on exhibit at the NWS Gallery at 915 S. Pacific Avenue in San Pedro, CA during May 2011.

Curiosity, Light and Shadows has been selected for the International Watermedia XVII Exhibit, sponsored by the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, Colorado Springs, CO during June and July 2011.

Chinatown One will be on exhibit at the BWS Mid Atlantic Regional Show at Strathmore Hall in Bethesda, MD April 4 - May 23.

Catherine Hillis is Commissioned to do the cover of Purcellville, Virginia's Centennial Publication
An original watercolor by Catherine Hillis graces the cover of: Purcellville, VA - A Centennial Anthology, 1908 - 2008 and depicts a favorite scene of downtown Purcellville, VA. Many other paintings by the artist are throughout the book.
This book can be purchased at locations throughout Purcellville: Purcellville Copy Center, Blackberries, Paint and Paper and Round Hill Arts Center.

Catherine Hillis was awarded a grant from Les Amis de la Grande Vigne
Catherine Hillis was awarded a grant from Les Amis de la Grande Vigne in Dinan, France. During the summer of 2007, Catherine was painting on site in and around Brittany, as a resident artist in Dinan. Les Amis de la Grande Vigne provided housing and a studio and selected one of the artist's paintings for their museum collection. The Loudoun Times Mirror Features her in an article related to the award. READ THE ARTICLE
